Questions about Teeth in a Day / All on 4 Implants

Miami and Coral Gables, Florida

Millions of people in the United States are living without an entire dental arch of teeth, or are completely toothless. Living with profound tooth loss has a significant negative impact on your way of life, your nutrition, and your self-confidence. Advances in dental technology have made it easier than ever before to replace lost teeth, and your cosmetic dentists at Miami Designer Smiles can provide you with an entire mouth full of replacement teeth in a single day through our “Teeth in a Day” treatment system.

Also known as the All-on-4 system, “Teeth In A Day” provides an entire arch of fixed replacement teeth, which is anchored into the mouth by four dental implants that are placed in strategic locations to provide support.

Here are some common questions about “Teeth in a Day” provided to you by our Miami implant dentists.

Who are the best candidates for “Teeth in a Day”?

The ideal candidates for the All-on-4 procedure are those who are about to lose their teeth or those who already are current denture wearers.

Many times I’ve been told that I’m not a candidate for a fixed bridge or implant due to bone loss. Am I a candidate for an implant with the All-on-4 procedure?

Approximately 80 percent of the patients who have been told they are not candidates for traditional implant options are candidates for this procedure. This procedure uses the frontal part of the jaw and in most cases, it requires no bone grafting or sinus augmentation.

What makes the “Teeth in a Day” procedure different from other implant procedures?

Considering the fact that the frontal part of the jaw has the more dense bone, instead of the conventional method of placing the implant straight into the bone (which can require sinus lift and bone grafting) and a minimum six to nine months of waiting time to heal, this technique differentiates by placing the back implants at an angle. Not only do you benefit from the dense bone in the frontal part of the jaw, but also we can place a longer implant with a much less invasive procedure, without entering into the sinus cavity on the upper arch.

How long is the surgery?

The needs of each patient are different but, generally speaking, the implant surgery takes 2 ½ hours per arch under sedation, and you will get a fixed set of teeth in one day.

Is there going to be any pain?

Since the procedure is much less invasive and the patient is placed on anti-inflammatory medication prior to the surgery, there is little to no discomfort and swelling.

How much does this procedure cost?

Every patient is different depending on bone quantity and density, but on average, this procedure costs half the price of conventional methods, without any waiting period and the benefit of receiving a fixed bridge of replacement teeth in one day.

Who will perform the implant installations?

If you have no teeth or have an entire lost dental arch, you do not have to continue to live with this tooth loss. To learn more about “Teeth in a Day,” please contact our Miami cosmetic dentists today or call (305) 595-4616 to schedule your initial appointment.
